Generation Connection Newsletter
The Lake Havasu Genealogical Society publishes a quarterly newsletter for our members as a benefit for membership. The mission of the Generation Connection Newsletter is to serve the LHGS members by publishing material of timely value.
Newsletters are Published for March, June, September and December with deadline dates for each newsletter the 1st day of the published month. The Editor reserves the right to select when publish any item received.
Submission Guide for the Generation Connection Newsletter
Members and friends of the Lake Havasu Genealogical Society are encouraged to submit articles or materials for publication in the Generation Connection Newsletter.
Material should be on a topic of interest to LHGS members. Subject might include:

Submit articles digitally in file formats readable in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx files). Place tables or charts at the end of your file. Photographs and images are invited, but please do not embed in your text file; send each image as a separate file. Clearly identify each image. Unless asked, do not send paper copies of articles or photographs. Use a descriptive file name such as: yourname yourtopic draft 21Jun2010.doc, using your name, topic and date of submission to identify your file.

Postal Submission Requirements
Submit paper copies of articles and/or photographs (enclosed a self addressed stamped envelope if photographs need to be returned), clearly identify each image along with the Newsletter Contribution Form. (Use this general purpose form or use a link above for a specialized form).
Copyright: By submitting material for publication, you are giving LHGS exclusive one-year right to publish your article. The copyright will remain with the author.

- Research Query
- Announcements of publications and acquisitions
- Upcoming genealogy events
- Personal research tips and hints
- Accounts of educational and research experiences describing a researcher's path of discovery, including what the researcher knew at the outset, how one piece of information led to another, and how a particular problem was solved; articles should clearly identify sources in the narrative or in footnotes or end-notes; preferred length; 250 words or longer
- Information about veterans members, or member's ancestors or descendants that served or are currently serving in the Military w/picture
- Book reviews on non-fiction or fiction books with themes about genealogy and/or history summarizing and evaluating books; preferred length: 300 to 750 words
- Interesting tombstones epitaphs
- Technology and software reviews describing software programs for research, writing, image management and other genealogical activities; preferred length: 500 to 1,500 words
- Other material, not limited to the examples presented
